The winding beach access track at Marcus Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, is an enchanting pathway that leads through a dark enclosed tunnel of coastal woodland towards the ocean beyond. Framed by an intricate network of arching twisted branches and wind-shaped vegetation, this scene creates a sense of close and mystery and evokes the anticipation of arriving at the beach, emerging from the mysterious dark bush into the bright openness of the beach beyond, a familiar ritual for locals and visitors alike.
The composition celebrates the character of Queensland’s coastal landscapes, where boardwalks and sandy tracks weave through fragile dune ecosystems, connecting communities to the shoreline while protecting the natural environment.
